Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Responsible for the bindery and finishing process of printed material for all companies within MDU Resources Group. Inspect finished product to maintain strict quality control. Knowledge of the operation and mechanics of all bindery equipment. Stay current with the Print Shop operations, providing assistance as needed. Act as liaison between Print Shop and Mailroom for shipping/mailing of finished products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED. Familiar with digital equipment used for folding, cutting, collating, punching, and stapling
Minimum one year of experience working in a Print Shop or Mailroom environment.

Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
May be required to maintain a valid drivers license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
An Associates Degree in Graphic Design, two to three years of experience in all areas of bindery and good knowledge of all Print Shop operations. Mechanical background a plus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates and performs preventive maintenance on all bindery equipment, including digital equipment (hydraulic cutter, folding equipment, booklet maker, slitter/cutter/creaser, collator, laminator, shrink wrapper) and mechanical equipment (stitcher, hydraulic paper drill and comb/spiral punch systems). Interprets the clients needs and determines the best process to finish the project in an efficient, accurate and cost-effective manner, including odd paper sizes and non-standard finishing. Identifies and resolves issues that may arise. Maintains bindery inventory and initiates purchases as needed.
Provides backup support for Digital Copier Technician position in Print Shop. Must possess the knowledge and ability to operate the equipment and program the software at a skill level that allows complex print projects to be completed in an efficient manner. Assists as needed in digital platemaking using direct-to-plate processing equipment.
Prepares finished products for delivery to stationary supply or inter-office distribution. Provides direction to Mailroom for proper shipping to other company locations and all subsidiaries. Returns job tickets, plates, and associated artwork to proper file source. Performs manual bindery functions when necessary such as off-line folding, perforating, scoring, collating, padding and taping.
Assists in supply area when needed to fill customer requests.
Assists in receiving paper shipments to loading docks, cutting down various sized stock, delivers stock to storage areas and departments, and stock paper shelves.
Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
