MDU Resources Group, Inc. (NYSE: MDU), a pure-play regulated energy delivery business, is seeking an experienced and commercial-minded attorney to join its Legal team. If hired, you will support varied stakeholders across the Companys businesses. The role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary and will work closely with key stakeholders in the Utility, Finance, HR, Regulatory, and Environmental teams. All MDU Resources employees are responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in their day-to-day work routines for themselves and others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Counsel I: ($94,460-$118,080)
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university;
Juris Doctor (or equivalent) degree from an ABA-accredited law school; and
License to practice law in North Dakota (or ability to obtain license or in house counsel certificate).
Counsel II: ($114,580 $143,220)
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university;
Juris Doctor (or equivalent) degree from an ABA-accredited law school; and
License to practice law in North Dakota (or ability to obtain license or in house counsel certificate); and
Three years experience in the practice of law.
Counsel III: ($131,810 - $164,760)
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university;
Juris Doctor (or equivalent) degree from an ABA-accredited law school;
License to practice law in North Dakota (or ability to obtain license or in house counsel certificate); and
Six years experience in the practice of law
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
This position is located on site at the MDU Resources Corporate Campus in Bismarck, ND

A business and solution-oriented approach to interacting and working with internal clients.
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
May be required to maintain a valid drivers license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Energy experience is a plus.
In house public company experience is a plus.
Law firm experience is a plus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide practical legal advice and counsel to senior management concerning compliance, real estate, marketing, SEC disclosure, regulatory, employee benefits, ESG, labor and employment, and environmental law.
Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with counterparties, vendors, and service providers.
Assist with documentation of corporate governance matters and legal entity maintenance.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of the Companys policies and procedures.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of outside counsel (e.g., litigation management).
Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
