Picked up this gorgeous chestnut roan 2013 model mare earlier this year with a nice set of papers through BLS loose because I loved her build, pedigree, and the fact she was extensively ranched on and sounded like had a great disposition for ranch work to make a using/ broodmare prospect. She was not paneled so I did that right away. My luck , she is 5 panel negative but does carry one copy of IMM on a 6 panel. Therefore, she does not fit the criteria to be in my broodmare band. I have too many useable mares and a nice gelding as is to keep another rider around so I am offering her up to someone else who might be able to still utilize her as a riding horse.

I talked to her previous owner and got the rundown on her before I bid on her and shes been a career ranch rider for EVERY aspect of the job. He bought her from a friend as a started 4 yr old who got her from her breeder and has had her since. She has had zero funny business her whole career but does have a work ethic and athleticism so not for total beginners. Since she has been worked her whole life she isnt like walk up to gentle but she is very easy to handle/be around and wants affection once caught. She can be a little looky Lou of things first few rides in the spring after having the winters off (thats what shes been used to-ridden spring through fall and sit winters) but not a spooky horse. Can want to get going a little faster if rope really starts slapping her behind while dragging calves as well but been roped off a ton for brandings and pasture doctoring. She did come up a little sore after fall works last year is the only reason he decided to list her. She was sound the whole time until last fall so assuming its wither some wear and tear from her ranching career. His farrier claimed that she had started wearing her hooves thinner on the outside of her fronts and that shoes would greatly benefit (if not fix the issue) in his opinion. That is one opinion and shes just been running to pasture since Ive had her so far so I have no educated input on the matter as of yet. Cheap right now just to recoup what I have into her until I put some rides on her (hopefully end of next month).
